World Earth Day 2020

Date published:

World Earth Day takes place on April 2020 with a full programme of events also scheduled ahead of that. Do check out www.earthday.org for more details.

The mission of World Earth Day is to demonstrate support for and create conversation around various environmental issues around the globe. It has been celebrated annually since 1970 meaning that the 50th anniversary takes place this year! Because of the ongoing pandemic, this event (like so many others) will go entirely digital for the first time ever. However, that has the added bonus of also making it more inclusive and accessible than ever before!

This year’s theme issue is ‘Climate Action’ and it is a highly topical one. Many countries worldwide, including Ireland, have long-committed funding to help tackle Climate Change and this World Earth Day will contain an open plea for this to continue. You will be aware that Climate Change denotes the global warming currently being generated by human greenhouse gas emissions and the resulting impact on weather patterns. Its rapid acceleration since the mid-20th century has placed it high on many Government agendas and it is critical for the future of the planet that this continues to be the case, despite the global pandemic.

Here at Earthology, we will celebrate World Earth Day by hosting a free lunch and learn Webinar on Wednesday 22nd April from 12.45 – 1.30 which you are very welcome to attend. This is an ideal opportunity for those of you who are now working from home to take a break and learn some useful tips and tricks to help make your new working environment a little greener. Greening your workspace is good for both your mental and physical wellbeing and will make working from home much more enjoyable. (We know that some of you are really missing the office!)

This presentation will be interactive with quizzes and a Q and A sessions so why not grab a sandwich and join us here on 22 April to learn how to make your home office work better for you?

*Attention businessowners:  Do you have a team of staff working from home due to Covid-19? We can organise a dedicated course to help improve their happiness (and productivity!). Just contact sarah@earthology.ie for more information.
